Recreational Vehicle Insurance Information

Recreational vehicles do more than just carry you from one place to another; they transport you with an eye toward maximum fun and/or comfort along the way. Just because some of these vehicles are associated with playtime, that doesn't mean they don't need the same insurance protection as any other piece of expensive property you own.

Standard Coverage

Bodily Injury
Bodily Injury Liability Coverage protects you if you are held responsible for injuring someone else in an accident. This coverage helps pay for the injured party's medical expenses and lost wages. Bodily injury liability also helps pay your expenses in a related lawsuit. The amount paid by bodily injury liability coverage is capped at the limit you purchase. *This coverage does not apply to towables.

Property Damage
Property Damage coverage protects you if you are held responsible for damaging someone else's property in an accident. Property damage coverage helps you reimburse another person for their damaged property (such as a car, a fence, or a home). This coverage also helps pay your expenses in a related lawsuit. The amount paid by property damage liability coverage is capped at the limit you select.
*This coverage does not apply to towables.

Personal Injury Protection
Personal Injury Protection
or PIP, is a set of coverage available only in certain states, where it is often mandatory. PIP generally includes expanded coverage of medical costs, and in some states, PIP also pays for lost wages and similar losses. Specific protections afforded by this coverage and limits on PIP payments vary widely from state to state. *This coverage does not apply to towables.

Medical Payments
Medical Payments will pay medical costs to you or a family member as the result of an accident in your RV, regardless of who is at fault.

Uninsured & Underinsured Motorists
When a person at fault for an accident does not have insurance or does not have enough standard RV insurance to cover your damages, Uninsured & Underinsured Motorists (UM/UIM) provides protection for you. This includes medical bills and lost wages and may include damage to property, including your RV. The amount paid by uninsured motorist bodily injury coverage is capped at the limit you select. *This coverage does not apply to towables.

Comprehensive and Collision
Comprehensive (Comp) and Collision cover the cost to repair your RV if it is stolen or damaged in a covered accident. Various deductible options are available for standard RV insurance and may be combined with Diminishing Deductible or in elite cases carriers such as Blue Sky’s offer new express options.

Towing & Roadside Labor
If your RV becomes disabled, Towing & Roadside Labor will provide for reasonable expense to tow your disabled vehicle to the nearest qualified repair facility as well as provide roadside labor at the point of disablement.

Mexico Coverage
This coverage will extend your standard RV insurance coverage territory to include physical damage losses (Comprehensive and Collision) in Mexico. Mexican Liability coverage is also available on request through our partnerships with several of the top Mexican Insurers.

Glass Coverage
Optional Glass Coverage is available in most states and will reduce your deductible in the event of a loss involving glass only.

Not all coverages are available in all states. The below descriptions are just summary descriptions of the coverage; they are not intended to replace the policy that is provided to you. Coverages can be different from state to state.
